Jason Bae
We are sorry to advise that Sonja Radojkovic will not be able to travel to New Zealand due to ill health. Fortunately pianist Jason Bae has agreed to present a superb programme for us on 9th May.

Born in South Korea in 1991, emerging piano star Jason Bae is a talent to watch. In 2008, Jason was awarded 1st Prize in the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York, which gained him a performance at the Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall. In the same year, he won the New Zealand Young Performer of the Year. In 2009, he won 2nd Prize at the Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition in Brisbane, Australia, where he also received the prize for the best performance of a work by Chopin. In 2010 he won the University of Auckland Gala Concerto Competition, performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No 1. Now only 20 years of age, Jason recently competed in the prestigious Dublin International Piano Competition, graduating to the second round.
Jason made his recital debut in Auckland in 2012, and has performed widely as a concerto soloist with orchestras including the 2010 NZSO National Youth Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane. He is currently studying towards his Bachelor of Honours in piano performance at the University of Auckland with Rae de Lisle.

New Zealand Guitar Quartet
The New Zealand Guitar Quartet came together in 2011 and has performed to enthusiastic reviews throughout N Z since. Owen Moriarty, Christopher Hill and Tim Watanabe each graduated from Schools of Music in Wellington before furthering their guitar and liberal arts interests in California, Spain and Wellington (respectively). In 2010 Jane Curry completed a doctorate from University of Arizona and is now Head of Classical Guitar Studies at the NZ School of Music.

Aroha String Quartet and Andrew Joyce
With "accomplished brilliance, soulfulness and sublime intensity in perfect balance and tonal unity", the Aroha Quartet has become firmly established as one of the finest chamber music ensembles in New Zealand. The programme features Schubert’s wonderful cello quintet (D 959). It also includes a String Quintet, written for the group by Peter Tornyai in 2010, which is said to begin where Schubert’s cello quintet ends.

Pepe Becker and Helen Webby
Pepe Becker and Helen Webby - "Life leads to death and out of death comes new life and love - 'tis the nature of things." Their enchanting programme - Love's Nature - sings of births, deaths and lovers' unions. Beginning with haunting mediæval monody it progresses through baroque, classical, romantic, 20th century and contemporary works, coming full circle with arrangements of Irish folk songs. Featuring the songs of:

- Louis Spohr, Robert Schumann, Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré

Leonari Piano Trio
Leonari Trio was created when Maria Mo and Eddy King teamed up to butcher Beethoven's lovely third cello sonata. Two years of screaming abuse and a lotta chamber love later, they plucked the blondest child (Hilary Hayes) from kindergarten to contribute on the fiddle - Leonari Trio was born, an event not yet noted in Grove's Dictionary. The Trio is tutored by members of NZ Chamber Soloists at the University of Waikato.

Sergey Malov and Michael Houstoun
Sergey Malov, born 27 years ago in Russia, has won nine major violin competitions during the past 12 years, culminating with the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2011.
Throughout this nation-wide tour he is accompanied by the acclaimed New Zealand pianist Michael Houstoun.
